Multimodal Psychotherapeutic Education

Multimodal psychotherapeutic education is designed according to the standards of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) to incorporate various psychotherapeutic approaches, allowing for a broader understanding and application of different methods in practice. In this specific program, the training is primarily focused on logotherapy, which makes up 2/3 of the entire curriculum, while the remaining 1/3 covers other modalities such as psychoanalytic, reality, systemic family, transactional, positive, sports, child and adolescent, and gerontological psychotherapy. This structure enables participants to gain in-depth knowledge and skills in logotherapy while also being introduced to various other therapeutic modalities, providing them with flexibility and breadth in therapeutic practice.

WHY CHOOSE MULTIMODAL PSYCHOTHERAPY STUDIES?

Within this specialized program, students acquire the knowledge and competencies necessary for effectively leading the psychotherapeutic process. They learn what is required to work in individual, group, marital, family, or other psychotherapeutic settings. They become acquainted with psychotherapeutic techniques and methods, gaining insight into the three-dimensional structure of the person and the psychopathology of mental health. Additionally, they acquire skills enabling them to support individuals in distress and those seeking to improve their own well-being. Our program, the only one of its kind in Slovenia, includes a module on "medicine in psychotherapy," where knowledge from various medical fields is integrated into the psychotherapeutic process.

The educational process involves top domestic and international lecturers and experts in psychotherapy theory, logotherapy, psychotherapy, medicine, and related fields connected to psychotherapy. Lecturers share their extensive experience through a personal approach and interdisciplinary collaboration. Classes are conducted in person in Ljubljana or its surroundings, with remote participation also available.

PSYCHOTHERAPY IN SPORT

SPECIALIST STUDY PERFORMANCE PSYCHOTHERAPY IN SPORT

The Academy offers public non-accredited postgraduate studies in psychotherapy and is an internationally accredited institution by the world’s largest organization for logotherapy and existential analysis, the Viktor Frankl Institute in Vienna.** The Academy provides psychotherapy studies and is the only institution in Europe offering a specialized program in performance psychotherapy in sports based on a multimodal psychotherapeutic approach. This area specifically fills a gap in the treatment of elite, promising, and recreational athletes, as it requires specialized knowledge to address the unique psychotherapeutic needs in sports.

Performance Psychotherapy in Sports is an independent scientific discipline that imposes increasing responsibility on psychotherapists, requiring broader expertise and specialized knowledge from complementary fields. This enables clients to receive the best possible care for their mental health issues. During their studies, students are involved in various training programs in sports, science, clinical dietetics, conditioning, medicine, and other specialized skills, knowledge, and competencies.

WHY CHOOSE A SPECIALIZED STUDY IN PERFORMANCE PSYCHOTHERAPY IN SPORTS?

The specialized study in performance psychotherapy in sports teaches, clarifies, and demonstrates everything needed to work with individual athletes or groups in various sports contexts, providing a deeper insight into the challenges and key areas of success that the role of a performance psychotherapist in sports entails.

We are the ONLY provider of the PERFORMANCE PSYCHOTHERAPY IN SPORTS study program in Europe based on logotherapy and existential analysis, developed to address issues, achieve stabilization, progress, and attain high performance in sports. The program is specifically designed to build professionals with the practical skills and knowledge required for psychotherapeutic work in sports at all levels, with a particular focus on elite sports.

WHO IS THE PERFORMANCE PSYCHOTHERAPY IN SPORTS PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR?

The specialized study in performance psychotherapy in sports is designed to help athletes at all levels progress, especially in elite sports. It is intended for individuals who have completed a university or master’s degree program and, in certain cases, for students who have not yet completed their primary studies. It is also aimed at doctors, psychologists, psychotherapists, counselors, coaches, and other professionals already working in sports. Candidates are selected based on documentation, a motivation letter, and a personal interview.

BUSINESS PERFORMANCE FOR LEADERS AND MANAGERS

BUSINESS PERFORMANCE FOR LEADERS AND MANAGERS

Business performance offers a unique opportunity to strengthen leadership by introducing core methods from the psychology of meaning, existential analysis, and Professor Viktor Frankl's logotherapy. Purposeful leadership is more important than ever! Reflecting on oneself and one's leadership role is essential to achieving success in a managerial position. Research increasingly shows a direct link between meaningful work, employee engagement, and mental health.

Studies on workplace meaning consistently find that when people feel a greater sense of purpose, they are more likely to be "in the flow" and perform at their best. Key findings include:

- **Corporate social legitimacy** is significantly influenced by the leadership's ability to foster employees' sense of purpose and meaning.
- **Leaders play a crucial role** in helping employees view their work as meaningful, positively impacting both motivation and morale.
- **The experience of meaning** is reinforced by the leader’s personal perspective on purpose and significance.

This program provides insights into new knowledge that empowers leaders to enhance their roles, foster camaraderie with their teams, and cultivate authentic leadership.

TRAINING IN SPORT PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR COACHES AND SPORTS PROFESSIONALS

TRAINING IN SPORT PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR COACHES AND SPORTS PROFESSIONALS

Psychotherapy in sports requires specialized knowledge that every coach needs to work effectively in the athletic field. To fill the gap in sports psychotherapy, we have developed a unique training program, unprecedented in Europe, for those interested in gaining expertise in this field.

The program is designed for sports coaches and others who work closely with athletes.

Participants in the one-year **Sports Logotherapy** training will, upon completion, be able to take a more critical approach to the psychological dimension of athletic coaching:

- Coaches in sports need both theoretical and practical knowledge of sports psychotherapy.
- Coaches encounter various professionals in their work, including athletes, management, physiotherapists, doctors, psychotherapists, and psychologists, and must utilize basic psychotherapy skills to foster effective collaboration among these profiles.
- Participants will recognize the psychological demands of their athletes early on.
- In cases of mental health challenges, they will be equipped to respond with greater sensitivity and insight.
- They will learn new approaches and techniques for the psychological aspects of sports training, as well as for competition preparation and performance.
- They will be able to integrate and understand all aspects of athletic training (technique, strategy, conditioning, and psychological preparation) and engage more analytically and collaboratively with professionals involved in athletic preparation and training (doctors, physiotherapists, kinesiologists, dietitians, sports psychologists, and sports psychotherapists).

The training spans one year (two semesters), with the option to pursue an additional, more in-depth year for further specialization.

PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINING FOR TEACHERS AND EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS

PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINING FOR TEACHERS AND EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS

Educators often need specialized psychotherapy knowledge, especially in child and adolescent therapy, to better address the challenges in education. To fill this gap, we have introduced a specialized training program in **psychotherapy for education – LOGOPEDAGOGY**, rooted in the well-established paradigms of **Logotherapy and Existential Analysis**.

This program is aimed at teachers across all educational levels and others who are directly or indirectly involved in the education of children, adolescents, and adults.

Participants in the one-year **Psychotherapy for Teachers – LOGOPEDAGOGY** training will, upon completion, be able to adopt a more critical perspective on the psychological dimension of teaching and relationships among everyone involved in the educational process.

- Participants will gain foundational theoretical and practical knowledge in **psychotherapy and psychotherapy adapted to the educational context – LOGOPEDAGOGY**.
- They will learn effective communication strategies for working with students, parents, teachers, and others involved in the educational process, including school psychologists, counselors, and administrative staff.
- They will develop the ability to recognize students' psychological needs early on and respond more effectively.
- In cases of students experiencing mental health challenges, they will be equipped to respond with greater understanding and relevance.
- They will learn new approaches and techniques to support the teaching process effectively.

The training spans one year (two semesters), with the option for participants to continue with an additional, more in-depth year of study for further specialization.

PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINING FOR PRIMARY, SECONDARY, AND TERTIARY HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINING FOR PRIMARY, SECONDARY, AND TERTIARY HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

Advances in medicine and behavioral sciences have paved the way for integrating medical practice within a multidisciplinary approach. Health is increasingly understood not merely as the absence of disease but as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. To enhance effectiveness in their roles, healthcare professionals at all levels require specialized knowledge in psychotherapy. This led us to introduce a specialized training program in **psychotherapy for healthcare professionals**, based on the psychotherapeutic paradigms of **Logotherapy and Existential Analysis**.

This training is intended for healthcare professionals across all three levels of healthcare—primary, secondary, and tertiary—who are directly or indirectly involved in healthcare services.

Participants in the one-year **Psychotherapy Training for Healthcare Professionals** will, upon completion, develop a more critical understanding of the mental health dimensions of treatment and relationships among all involved in the healthcare process.

- Participants will gain foundational theoretical and practical knowledge in **Logotherapy adapted to healthcare settings**.
- They will acquire additional skills for effective communication with all individuals involved in the healthcare process, directly or indirectly connected to patient care.
- They will learn to identify psychological distress in patients from a psychotherapeutic perspective at earlier stages, enabling more effective intervention.
- They will learn new psychotherapeutic approaches and techniques to support their daily work processes.

The training program lasts one year (two semesters) and equips healthcare workers with essential skills to enhance their roles in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.

SUPERVISION OF PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC PRACTICE

SUPERVISION OF PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC PRACTICE

In recent years, the supervision of psychotherapeutic practice has become increasingly professionalized and is now an essential requirement for maintaining competent practice. It fundamentally differs from training, personal development, and line management. Members of professional psychotherapeutic associations must undergo ongoing supervision of their client practice as a critical component of maintaining their membership status.

The supervisory process is a complex interpersonal meeting that involves a network of interconnected and transactional relationships. The functions of supervision include monitoring, education, development, and support for individual practitioners in their roles as psychotherapists. Through the supervisory relationship, practitioners have a continuous opportunity to enhance their professional skills and abilities through reflection and exploration of their work with clients.

Clinical supervision aims to promote the development of the supervisee and encourage reflexivity, which is an integral part of the psychotherapeutic process. The establishment of an ethical code of conduct for supervisors is intended to ensure that practitioners maintain safe and ethical practices within their field, thereby ensuring the safety of the client, supervisor, and supervisee.

At the Academy for Psychotherapy and Logotherapy, we offer supervisors of both genders, from Slovenia and abroad, to support your professional development and enhance the quality of your psychotherapeutic practice.
